Terms of Service

These Terms cover two separate products. Al Muslim is the mobile app. Al-Masjidh is the website at https://almasjidh.com and the mosque office on that website. Using either product means you agree to these Terms for the product you use.

1. Acceptance

If you do not agree, do not use the product. A person who opens the mosque office on behalf of a mosque confirms they are allowed to act for that mosque.

2. Al Muslim, the mobile app

Al Muslim is the app a person installs for their own use. It provides prayer times for Sri Lankan zones, Qibla, a mosque finder, the Quran with recitation, duas, hadith, tasbeeh, a salah guide, prayer streaks, personal goals, and notifications the person turns on. After a mobile number is registered, the person can follow a mosque and then read that mosque’s news and janaza notices and listen to its bayans inside the app.

The app may be opened as a guest or with a verified Sri Lankan mobile number and a one-time code. The person is responsible for that phone, that code, and activity under that app account. Guest use is tied to the installation on that device.

3. Al-Masjidh, the website and mosque office

Al-Masjidh is the public website and the private office a registered mosque uses. Public pages explain the products, help people find a mosque, and offer support. The office is only for staff of that mosque. Staff sign in with the mosque’s mobile number. That office session is separate from an Al Muslim account.

In its own office a mosque may keep its profile, facilities, and prayer times; a join QR and poster; the list of app followers; the Jamaat roll and pending requests; announcements; janaza records; a bayan library with audio; sanda, zakat, and collection ledgers; the trustee board and meeting minutes; and mosque staff. The mosque is responsible for the people it allows into that office and for what they enter there.

4. Following a mosque and the Jamaat roll

A follow is a record in Al Muslim. It starts when a person, after registering a mobile number, follows a mosque, including by scanning the QR the mosque prints from Al-Masjidh. A follow lets that person receive the news, janaza notices, and bayans that mosque publishes.

The Jamaat roll is a record in the Al-Masjidh office. The mosque creates it, updates it, and decides who is on it. Installing Al Muslim, signing in, or following a mosque does not add a person to the Jamaat roll. Office ledgers, trustee minutes, staff records, and the full roll stay with the mosque. They are not part of the public app feed.

5. Bayans and other mosque content

A mosque uploads bayan audio and the written details (title, speaker, language, and recorded date) in the Al-Masjidh office. Followers listen in Al Muslim. The mosque is responsible for having the right to share that recording and for the accuracy of the details. Announcements and janaza notices work the same way: the mosque publishes them in the office, and followers read them in the app.

Prayer times, Quran text, hadith, and duas are offered as general guidance. For a religious ruling, ask a qualified scholar. We may change or retire a feature, and we will give notice where that is practical.

6. Acceptable use

Use each product only for lawful purposes. You must not attempt to open another mosque’s office, another person’s account, or systems you are not allowed to use. You must not upload unlawful or harmful material, misuse one-time codes, or use either product to harass or mislead people. We may suspend access that breaks these Terms or puts either product at risk.

7. Intellectual property

The Al Muslim name and app, and the Al-Masjidh name, website, and office software, belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or redistribute that software or branding without permission. A mosque keeps the rights in the content it uploads, and it gives us permission to store that content and to show it to the people the product is built to reach, including followers in Al Muslim. Quran and hadith texts are used with their applicable licences and attribution.

8. Privacy

How information is handled for each product is described in the Privacy Policy. The About page explains what each product includes.

9. Disclaimer and liability

Both products are provided as they are. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss from using them, and our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows. A mosque remains responsible for the records and notices it publishes.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The new version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use a product after that means you accept the updated Terms for that product.
